The Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction is managed by the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation.
The Livestock Auction provides the opportunity for Wisconsin’s youth in agriculture to promote the livestock industry while enhancing and strengthening the agricultural community of Wisconsin.
The auction is a highlight the annual Wisconsin State Fair for Wisconsin youth who have worked hard all year to achieve Grand, Reserve or Breed Champion status and have won a coveted spot in the auction. Annually funds raised at the Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction directly benefit more thatn 200 Wisconsin State Fair Junior Exhbitors through the livestock sale, Camp of Champions, scholarships and Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation's sponsorship of other Wisconsin State Fair Junior Exhibitor programs.
We are all saddened by the cancellation of the 2020 Wisconsin State Fair and the resulting cancellation of the 2020 Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction and Camp of Champions.
We were, however, able to conduct our annual scholarship program on-line and we received a record 54 scholarship applications! We will be awarding $30,000 to 26 recipients in the form of five $2,000 scholarships, six $1,500 awards, seven $1,000 scholarships, and eight $500 scholarships. These scholarships recognize the achievements of Wisconsin State Fair Junior Livestock exhibitors and assist them with their educational expenses.Typically our annual scholarships would have been funded by auction sales and animal donations from our generous buyers.
