Master Stockman Awards

The Wisconsin Livestock Breeders Association, in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation, is proud to present the Annual Master Stockman Awards at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction.

The Master Stockman program encourages and recognizes livestock youth who exhibit the traits of responsibility, honesty, hard work and involvement. Award recipients are chosen for their academic and agriculture accomplishments.

The three Master Stockman Award Scholarships, as well as three additional scholarships to this year's runners-up are presented at the Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction.

 

Premier Exhibitors

The Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Committee is proud to sponsor the Premier Exhibitor Awards. Youth exhibitors ages 16-19 are eligible to compete for this honor. Contestants from beef, sheep and swine compete in Showmanship, a Skillathon contest , take a Quiz and judge classes of beef, sheep and hogs to earn the honor of the Premier Exhibitor. The winner of each division wins $500, with 2nd through 5th place receiving $250, $150, $100, and $75 respectively. Additionally $750.00 will be awarded to the contestants who place sixth through tenth, receiving $50 each. In all, 30 youth will be awarded cash awards from the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Committee.

 

Governor’s Blue Ribbon Scholarship Awards

The Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Committee will award five $1,500 scholarships, five $1000 scholarships and five $500 scholarships. Applications have been judged on the following basis: State Fair participation, 35%; Leadership activities, 30%; Interview, 20%; Scholastic, 10%; and Career plans, 5%. These scholarships are established as an annual program of the Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction. The winners of these scholarships are announced during the auction.
